Our Story

At Chickli, our mission is to create the world’s most exciting bird boxes — combining clever design with built-in cameras so you can experience the secret life of birds up close. We believe sustainability is about longevity: our products are built to last a lifetime outdoors, reducing waste and the need for constant replacements. And when the time finally comes, they can be fully recycled — protecting the very wildlife we work so hard to celebrate.

Meet The Founder

Chickli was founded in 2025 by Jonathan Gilmore, an engineer turned entrepreneur with a lifelong love of nature.

Jonathan built his very first bird box at the age of 11, fascinated by the idea of creating a safe space for garden birds. That childhood project sparked a passion for making things by hand and for watching wildlife up close — passions that never left him.

After a successful career in engineering, Jonathan decided to bring those two worlds together: precision design and a deep respect for nature. His vision was simple but ambitious — to create bird boxes that were more than just homes for wildlife. He wanted them to be windows into the secret life of birds, using clever camera technology to bring nesting moments to life in a way that anyone could enjoy.

Today, Jonathan is hands-on with every aspect of Chickli. From sketching early designs to testing prototypes and overseeing production, he ensures that every product reflects both his technical expertise and his love for the natural world. His commitment is clear: to build products that last a lifetime, protect biodiversity, and inspire people to connect with the wildlife in their own gardens.

Why It Matters?

Watching a chick hatch from its egg is a special moment. But for most of us, these wonders remain hidden away in the tree tops or deep within hedges.

Chickli bird boxes open a window into the world of caring parents, cozy nests, and dramatic first flights.

We want to share the joy of these stories with everyone.
